When a single putt can make the difference between winning or losing - or just beating your best round - you want to be confident that you’re getting all the help you can get from your putter.
From impact to distance control, the right putter can make that millimetre difference you need.
Two of our most popular golf putters are the Ping 2021 Kushin 4 Golf Putter and the Odyssey 2 Ball Ten S Stroke Lab Golf Putter.
In this blog, our Clarke’s Golf Centre experts compare these two excellent putters and help you pick the right one for you to make tackling those greens a bit easier.
Odyssey 2 Ball Ten S Stroke Lab Golf Putter
The Odyssey 2 Ball Ten S Stroke Lab Golf Putter is ideal for golfers of all abilities with a moderate face rotation and arc on their putting stroke.
With the classic 2-Ball and Ten shape, this toe hang mallet putter provides great alignment for your shots, while the head design provides exceptional MOI, so it’s highly forgiving on the odd occasion you miss-hit your shot.
The updated shaft on the Odyssey 2 Ball Ten S Stroke Lab Golf Putter is 7 grams lighter than the previous model, so it could be more suited to faster tempo strokes.
The stiffer construction helps with stability and tempo, so you can be more consistent on the green.
As standard, this excellent putter is available with a 33” length and an oversized grip, so it feels comfortable in your hands.
Pros of the Odyssey 2 Ball Ten S Stroke Lab Golf Putter
-
Easy alignment aids to make lining up shots simpler
-

-

-
Excellent MOI, so it is very forgiving
-

Ping 2021 Kushin 4 Golf Putter
The Ping 2021 Kushin 4 Golf Putter is designed to maximise MOI, ensuring forgiveness and consistency on any length of putt.
Like the other choices in Ping’s 2021 collection, the Kushin 4 Putter has a multi-material construction using a combination of 17-4 SS, tungsten and aluminium to create a more consistent stroke and feel.
Uniform shallow grooves, along with the dual-durometer insert, a front layer of Pebax and a firmer back layer on the club face ensure more precision on shorter putts while allowing better distance control and forgiveness for longer strokes.
We’ve found that the construction of this club works well for faster or slower tempo swings, and it’s easy to get a feel for the swing you need to match the distance.
As is expected with Ping golf putters, the Kushin 4 is highly customisable, so you can adapt your loft, lie, grip, arc and length options to fit your height and stroke style perfectly.
Ultimately the Ping 2021 Kushin 4 Golf Putter is a great option whether you’re a beginner looking to upgrade your putter to get more help around the green, or if you’re an experienced player looking to maximise your performance.
Pros of the Ping 2021 Kushin 4 Golf Putter

Ping 2021 Kushin 4 Golf Putter vs Odyssey 2 Ball Ten S Stroke Lab Golf Putter - Which is better?
There really isn’t much to choose between the Ping 2021 and Odyssey 2 Ball, and it could come down to your brand preference.
Price-wise, the Odyssey 2 Ball Putter is slightly more expensive at £249 than the £229 Ping 2021 (although we do have a reduced price on the Odyssey Putter right now)
If you’re at a beginner level, you could benefit more than the features of the Odyssey 2 Ball.
The 2 Ball design mallet putter can make it easier to line up shots than the Ping 2021, which relies more on the golfer’s eye line and judgement.
We’d likely recommend the Ping 2021 for more experienced players or those looking for a highly customised putter designed to their specifications.
