A tasty-looking driver
Boasting an all-black colour scheme with a distinctive deep red face, and the gorgeous flowing curves that are to be expected from the golfing giant, the TaylorMade Stealth Driver looks impressive from any distance on the golf course.
The Stealth HD Driver is specifically shaped for speed and delivers a bright yet powerful sound profile.
A driver that promotes forgiveness
The Stealth driver is listed as a ‘carbonwood’, as opposed to a metal wood. Essentially, this means that it has a full carbon clubhead with the crown joined by a composite clubface (60X Carbon Twist Face), which provides forgiveness on those occasional off-centre strikes.
A number of the design features have been carried over from the SIM 2 drivers, including the Speedpocket slot, a trait that TaylorMade has used in previous drivers to maximise ball speed and provide more forgiveness on low-struck shots.
It also features a fixed 10g weight at the back of the sole to give golfers greater shot-shaping playability and stability.
A driver that can be fine-tuned
The Stealth drivers are aimed at varying skill levels – from golfing beginners to PGA Tour players, including Tiger Woods. In fact, Tiger was spotted using the Stealth Plus in the PNC pro-am back in December!
The Stealth driver features a 12-way adjustable hosel, with lofts of 8, 9, 10.5, and 12 degrees. Left-handed options include 9 and 10.5 degrees only.
For better players, the Stealth Plus comes in 8, 9, and 10.5 degrees with a sliding track for fade/draw adjustability. Of all the Stealth driver models, the Stealth Plus will provide the lowest spin. To achieve the desired ball flight, you simply move the slider to suit your personal preference.
